LAST TIME OUT
Thomas de Villardi led the way with four points while four total Blue Hens got in the scoring action Wednesday evening in Delaware's 5-1 decision over Drexel at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium. The Hens, who had been shutout in five of the last seven games, posted season-highs in goals, points (13) and assists (3) in the win. Ryan Talbot posted his first goal in a Delaware uniform in the 24th minute to erase the eggs on the scoreboard. Thibault Philippe gave the Hens the two-goal advantage in the 32nd minute with his first score of the year after heading in the corner kick from de Villardi, his former high school teammate. De Villardi and Guillermo Delgado connected for the first time on the night in the 53rd minute as de Villardi notched his first tally in the blue and gold to go up, 3-0, after receiving the cross from Delgado. The duo of de Villardi and Delgado paired once again in the 88th minute on the breakaway goal for Delaware (5-6-2, 2-2 CAA), but this time Delgado knocked the ball in while de Villardi was credited with the assist. With time winding down, the Blue Hens received their fifth and final goal as a Drexel player netted an 'own-goal.' Todd Morton accumulated three saves to move to 3-2-1 on the year.
