Hens Up a Spot to No. 14 in NFHCA Poll

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Following a 2-0 weekend, including a win versus a nationally ranked opponent, the University of Delaware field hockey team moved up a spot to No. 14 in Tuesday's release of the Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll.
The Blue Hens (13-4) defeated Towson, 9-0, Friday before picking up a 2-1 victory over then-No. 12 Old Dominion Sunday.
Delaware received 313 points for the No. 14 ranking while the top four sports remained the same. Syracuse (16-0) led the pack once again with 886 total points and 36 first place votes. UConn (17-0), North Carolina (13-2) and Duke (11-5) followed in order.
The Hens have been ranked in the NFHCA Top 20 in each week since September 8 and have reached as high as No. 12. Delaware is ranked No. 15 in this week's NCAA Field Hockey RPI.
UD is currently sixth nationally with 3.94 goals per game and ninth with a scoring margin of 1.8. The Hens are also fifth in points per game (10.88), seventh in assists per game (3.0) and ninth with 9.0 defensive saves.
The Blue Hens conclude regular season play this weekend as they travel to Drexel for a 7 p.m. contest Friday before heading further north for a 2 p.m. match at Northeastern Sunday.
