Hens Close Home Slate Wednesday Against James Madison

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware looks to improve in the CAA standings Wednesday evening as the Hens host James Madison at 7 p.m. at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.
SENIOR NIGHT
Prior to Wednesday's contest against James Madison, the Blue Hens will honor graduating seniors Joe Dipre and Nick DiRienzo in addition to student athletic trainers Stephanie Minite and Robert Murrian and team manager Katy Snyder.
ADMISSION
Admission is free and open to the public for all home regular season Delaware men's soccer games held at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.

Fans unable to make it to the game in person can watch Sunday's match versus UNCW online, for free, via Hens All-Access. Full rebroadcasts of the game will be available on Delaware's YouTube page within 24 hours of completion of the contest.

LAST TIME OUT
Delaware (7-6-3, 3-2-1 CAA) had a three-game win streak snapped but clinched a berth into the CAA Tournament after a 1-1 tie with No. r/v UNCW Sunday. The Hens jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal by Thibault Philippe just 14 minutes into the game but the Seahawks (8-4-3, 3-2-2 CAA) evened things up on a goal with 26:35 left in regulation before the teams played two scoreless overtime periods. Both teams managed 13 shots for the game while the Blue Hens held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks. Delaware got off the only three shots by either team over the two overtime periods but could not connect as UNCW goalkeeper Sean Melvin stopped a shot by Delaware's Marco Siverio in the final seconds of the contest.
HEN SCRATCHINGS
· The Blue Hens could climb as high as No. 2 in the standings with wins over JMU and William & Mary. The top two seeds earn first round byes while the No. 3 and 4 seeds host quarterfinal games.
· Since 2011, UD has earned two berths to the NCAA Tournament with a CAA Tournament Championship in 2011, CAA Regular Season title in 2014 and two CAA Tournament Finals appearances.
· Delaware has outscored its opponents 11-5 over the past four games.
· The Hens have competed in five double overtime contests this season for the first time since 2011.
· Todd Morton was named the CAA Rookie of the Week after tallying 11 saves to help the Hens go 1-0-1 against a pair of nationally ranked opponents last week. Through nine matches this season, Morton is ranked 24th nationally with a 0.73 GAA and 13th with a save percentage of .837.
· Morton will see a familiar face Wednesday evening, as his older brother, Kyle, is the starting goalkeeper for the Dukes.
· With an assist vs. UNCW, Joe Dipre now has 14 career assists and is tied for fourth in program history with Bob Young (1983-85).
· Guillermo Delgado is third all-time with 75 (33g, 9a) career points. John McCloskey (1975-78) is second in school history with 82 career points (35g, 12a).
· Ten Blue Hens have tallied at least one point on the year.
· Tom Foley (Connecticut '91 '96) is in his first season as the head coach of the Dukes after serving the previous 13 years on the coaching staff.
ABOUT JAMES MADISON
The Dukes (3-8-4, 2-2-2 CAA) currently hold the sixth spot in the CAA standings and has yet to clinch a spot in the league's postseason tournament. JMU has posted one win in its last six games and have lost two straight by just one goal to No. 11 Elon and Lehigh. Billy Metzler (2g, 4a) and Connor Coward (4g, 0a) lead the Dukes with eight points apiece while Kyle Morton has started 14 contests in goal for JMU. Morton has tallied a .737 save percentage with a GAA of 1.07.
