Delaware Swimmers & Divers Close Out Successful CAA Pod Meet with Dual Victories

NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware men's and women's swimming and diving squads closed out a successful Colonial Athletic Association Pod Meet Sunday afternoon at Rawstrom Natatorium as the Blue Hen women posted wins over UNCW and William & Mary and the UD men knocked off UNCW.
The Delaware women (5-1, 2-1 CAA) defeated UNCW 243-110 and William & Mary 181.5-165.5 and fell to James Madison by a 192-160 score. The Blue Hen men (3-1, 1-1 CAA) edged UNCW 179-174 and fell to William & Mary 237-104.
The UD women defeated William & Mary for the first time since the 2003-04 season while the UD men downed UNCW for the first time in school history.
Delaware captured first place finishes in three events on Sunday and finished the two-day meet with 11 championships.
Highlighting the action Sunday was the UD women's 400 freestyle relay team of Dominique Montoya, Alyssa Sanders, Sarah Braatz, and Morgan Whyte that combined to win the event with a time of 3:27.99 to set a new pool record by over a second. Whyte went on to also win the 100 freestyle (51.42) and finished with four first place finishes for the weekend.
Braatz went on to finish second in the 500 freestyle (5:03.77), Mina Feyrer was second in the 200 butterfly (2:07.00), Annie Nunes was third in the 200 breaststroke (2:23.28), Sanders was third in the 200 backstroke (2:04.67), and Montoya was third in the 500 freestyle (5:04.85).
On the men's side, Corey Camp ran his win total to three over the weekend as he captured the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:38.21 and also teamed with Nicholas Badsky, Garrett Sharesky, and Tomas Elder to place third in the 400 freestyle relay (3:09.21).
The Delaware men had one other multiple winner during the weekend as Luke Winkler won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events and
