GAME PREVIEW:
Delaware Looks to Close Out 2015 Season on High Note with First-Ever Visit to Elon
ELON, N.C. -- Delaware football will be looking to end a subpar season on a high note Saturday at noon when the Blue Hens travel to Colonial Athletic Association foe Elon for the first time.
The Blue Hens (3-7, 2-5 CAA), who suffered a heartbreaking last minute 24-21 setback at home to No. 14 James Madison on Saturday at Delaware Stadium, will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak and avoid its first four-game losing skein in the same season since the end of the 2012 campaign.
Delaware, which owns conference wins this season over current league-leader William & Mary and defending league champion New Hampshire, will also be looking to earn its first road victory of the season and snap a five-game road losing streak dating back to a win over Albany last November. The Blue Hens will be looking to pick up their offensive output as the Hens have been shutout in each of their last two road games at Rhode Island (20-0 on Oct. 10) and Towson (19-0 on Oct. 31).
Elon (4-6, 3-4 CAA), coming off a 27-22 win at Maine on Saturday, has won two of its last three outings and is one of the league's most improved teams after struggling to a 1-11 mark (0-8 CAA) in its initial season in the CAA a year ago. The Phoenix also own league victories over Stony Brook and Towson this season in addition to the Maine win last week.
