Delaware Swimmers Set Two More Pool Records; Remain Atop Standings at F&M

LANCASTER, Pa. -- University of Delaware swimmers set two more pool relay records, won nine relay and individual titles, and remained in first place in the team standings after the second day of the Franklin & Marshall Winter Invitational Saturday evening at McGinness Pool.
After breaking school records in the men's and women's 800 freestyle relays on Friday, the Delaware men's and women's 200 medley relay teams also set new pool standards on Saturday. The third and final day of the meet will get underway Sunday at 10 a.m.
The Delaware women lead the team standings with 1,148 points out of 12 teams while the Blue Hen lead with 1,100 points among nine teams competing.
The Blue Hen women captured four first place finishes on Saturday led by the 200 medley relay team of Alyssa Sanders, Annie Nunes, Mina Feyrer, and Morgan Whyte with a pool-record time of 1:44.74. Nunes also captured the 200 breaststroke in 2:22.01 while Brittany Steinfeld won the 400 individual medley (4:35.82) and Dominique Montoya finished first in the 200 freestyle (1:52.54). Whyte also was second in the 50 freestyle (23.75) and Sanders was second in the 100 backstroke (57.55).
On the men's side, the Delaware 200 medley relay team of Alex Hillsley, Peter DeLuce, Tomas Elder, and Nicholas Badsky won the event with a pool-record time of 1:34.67 and was among five first place finishes on the day for UD.
Elder also won the 100 butterfly (51.75), Hillsley won the 200 freestyle (1:41.97), Asher Kiely captured the 100 backstroke (52.12), and Patrick Savidge won his second individual title of the meet by finishing first in the 400 individual medley (4:04.25).
Kiely was also second in the 200 medley relay while Badsky was second in the 100 backstroke (52.75) and third in the 50 freestyle (21.28).
