Delaware Ranked No. 15 in NFHCA Poll

CHANDLER, Ariz. – With a 14-5 mark to end the regular season, the Blue Hens have slipped a spot to No. 15 in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll.
Delaware fell, 2-1, at Drexel on Friday before defeating Northeastern, 4-3, to clinch the team's fifth straight berth into the CAA Tournament.
The Hens received 216 points for the 15th slot while the top four spots once again remained the same. Syracuse (16-0) is atop this week's poll for the fifth straight week with 807 total points and 34 first place votes. UConn (18-0), North Carolina (15-2) and Duke (12-5) followed in order.
The Hens have been ranked in the NFHCA Top 20 in each week since September 8 and have reached as high as No. 12. Delaware is ranked No. 16 in this week's NCAA Field Hockey RPI.
UD is currently fifth nationally with 3.79 goals per game and 12th with a scoring margin of 1.61. The Hens are also fifth in points per game (10.47), ninth in assists per game (2.89) and 10th with 9.0 defensive saves.
Delaware vies for its third straight CAA title this coming weekend as it next faces the third-seeded Hofstra Pride Friday at 5:45 p.m. in the CAA semifinals at No. 16 James Madison. With a win, the Hens could face either the top-seeded Dukes or fourth-seeded Drexel Dragons in Sunday's championship final.
