WASHINGTON, D.C. – Freshman Nicole Enabosi (Gaithersburg, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) logged another impressive performance Thursday evening, but Georgetown pushed past the Hens, 61-50, at McDonough Arena.
Enabosi finished the night with a game-high seven blocked shots to go along with 10 rebounds, seven points and two steals. As a team, Delaware (4-4) registered 10 total blocked shots.
Junior Erika Brown (Paterson, N.J./John F. Kennedy) and redshirt sophomore Sadé Chatman (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Central) each posted 11 points and four rebounds while Brown dished out a team-best three assists and Chatman collected two blocks.
The Blue Hens held a 16-15 lead with an 11-8 advantage on the boards in the first quarter, but the Hoyas (6-2) outscored and outrebounded UD in the remaining three periods to come away with the victory.
Georgetown outrebounded Delaware, 49-40, in the game and was led by Yazmine Belk's 14 boards. Dionna White led the Hoyas with 18 points and four assists.
“We need to find a way to do a better job. We have to get tougher on the boards, there's no question that's our Achilles heel right now. Yes, our opponents have been bigger, older and stronger, but you can't use that as an excuse, we need to get tougher. It's a process and the kids are continuing to learn, but I don't know when the consistency will come.”
