James Madison University opened play against Delaware with an 18-0 run Sunday and the Blue Hens were never able to recover in a 94-64 loss to the Dukes at the Convocation Center. UD was able to cut the deficit to six before JMU eventually went up by as much as 23 before the end of the half. The league-leading Dukes, who are receiving votes in the national Top 25 polls, quickly took the 41-22 halftime lead and turned it into a 30-plus-point advantage to open the second. JMU led by as much 38 en route to victory. Courtni Green and Hannah Jardine led the Hens with 15 points apiece. Erika Brown and Joy Caracciolo added 14 and 13 points, respectively. Jardine and Makeda Nicholas paced Delaware with eight rebounds each.
HEN SCRATCHINGS
· The Hens are celebrating the annual Women's Health Awareness game by wearing pink uniforms. Fans were encouraged to wear red or pink in support of women's health issues.
