LAST TIME OUT
It was a tale of two halves Thursday evening as Delaware fell, 71-68, at UNCW in overtime. The Blue Hens held a 34-22 advantage at the half before the Seahawks outscored UD, 40-28, to send the game into overtime. Delaware had the chance to win the game in regulation but Erika Brown missed the front end of a one-and-one free throw situation with one second left. Led by Brie Mobley's program-record 46 points, UNCW held UD scoreless in the final 3:28 of the extra period for the comeback victory. Mobley scored all nine of UNCW's points in the extra period. Joy Caracciolo paced the Hens with a career-best 26 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field in addition to eight free throws. The forward added six rebounds and two assists in 41 minutes of action. Hannah Jardine added 16 points and a team-high seven rebounds while Brown registered 10 points. UNCW forward Ryan Flowers pulled down 16 rebounds for the Seahawks, the highest total allowed by the Blue Hens this season. The 46 points by Mobley were the highest total ever scored against the Blue Hens, surpassing the previous high of 43 by Cindy Blodgett of Maine on Feb. 8, 1998.
