Joy Caracciolo and Makeda Nicholas posted career nights Thursday as Delaware swept the regular season series over Northeastern by a score of 70-61 at the Bob Carpenter Center. Caracciolo recorded her second straight double double with a career-high 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor to go along with 10 rebounds. Nicholas tallied season-bests of 17 points by going 8-for-16 from the floor in addition to blocking four shots. Delaware (11-11, 6-5 CAA) also received double figures from Erika Brown and Courtni Green, who put up 16 and 12 points, respectively. The Blue Hens trailed by as many as 13 points in the opening half and went down 31-27 at halftime before a jumper from Nicholas and free throws from Caracciolo tied the game and then gave UD the lead for good just five minutes into the second stanza. Delaware made nine free throws in the final 1:08 to seal the victory over the Huskies (4-17, 1-10 CAA).
