RICHMOND, Va. – After earning his first victory of the season Sunday vs. Sacred Heart, University of Delaware senior Adam Davis was named Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Davis (Drums, Pa./Hazelton Area) pitched eight innings of scoreless baseball, only allowed three hits, and struck out seven in Delaware's 9-0 win over the Pioneers.
The senior, who missed nearly all of last season because of an arm injury, recorded his first win since May 17, 2013. Davis is 1-1 with a 2.61 ERA in 20.2 innings pitched this season.
Davis shared Pitcher of the Week honors with Northeastern's Nick Berger, while Cullen Large of William & Mary was named CAA Player and Rookie of the Week.
The Hens (6-4) will return to action Tuesday as Delaware hosts Lehigh at 3 p.m. at Bob Hannah Stadium.
