NFHCA Names Eight Blue Hens to National Academic Squad

CHANDLER, Ariz. – The NFHCA rounded out its academic honors Monday by naming eight University of Delaware field hockey student-athletes to its National Academic Squad for their work in the classroom.
The 2014 Gladiator/NFHCA National Academic Squad recognizes individuals who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher during the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year, which is possibly the busiest time of the year for the student-athletes as they are amidst their championship season.
Rolf van de KerkhofDelaware was represented by freshmen Maggie Delp (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen), Emmeline Oltmans (Baarn, The Netherlands/Het Baarnsch Lyceum) and Isabelle van der Kaaij (The Hague, The Netherlands/Christelijk Gymnasium Sorghvliet), sophomores Fran Orella (Whitehouse Station, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional), Esmée Peet (Zeewolde, The Netherlands/RSG Slingerbos) and Marjelle Scheffers (Amersfoort, The Netherlands/Stedelijk Gymnasium Johan van Oldenbarneveld), junior Janell Holmes (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg Christian), and senior Morgan Hudson (Wilmington, Del./Concord) on the list.
The Blue Hens were honored as a 2014 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team earlier this month.
Delaware finished the 2014 campaign with a record of 13-9 while picking up their second straight CAA title and NCAA Tournament appearance.
