Blue Hens Hit the Road for Three-Game CAA Set at James Madison

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The University of Delaware baseball team will hit the road for the second straight weekend as the Blue Hens travel to James Madison for a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series beginning Friday.
Delaware (10-10, 2-4 CAA) has lost five of the last six games and sit in a tie for sixth place in the CAA heading into this weekend's games.
Jim ShermanJoe Giacchino leads the Blue Hens with 29 hits, while Diaz Nardo slammed a home run against Lehigh to give him a team-high total of four.
Norm Donkin has recorded a multi-hit game in three of the last five contests, while Gary Jones has tallied an RBI in his last three games.
James Madison (10-16, 0-6 CAA) comes into this weekend's set vs. Delaware still searching for its first CAA victory. The Dukes were swept by Elon and Charleston in their first two conference series, but three of their six conference losses are by just one run.
Ky Parrot leads the Dukes in batting average (.329), home runs (five), and RBI (21). JMU has a .247 team batting average, while its pitching staff boasts a 6.00 ERA.
Adam Davis will get the start in game one, while Chad Martin will take the mound for the Blue Hens in game two of the series. Redshirt freshman Ron Marinaccio will get the nod in game three.
The first two games of the series will begin at 6:30 p.m., while game three is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Sunday.

· Delaware won two of three games last season against the Dukes, but the all-time series is knotted at 23.
· Donkin leads Delaware with three triples and his total is tied for second in the CAA.
· The Blue Hens are second in the CAA with a 4.15 ERA.

· Nardo's 11-game hitting streak was snapped in Wednesday's loss to La Salle.
