Delaware Wraps Up Non-Conference Slate with Road Contest at Saint Joseph?s

MERION STATION, Pa. – The University of Delaware baseball team will conclude the non-conference portion of its schedule Tuesday as the Blue Hens travel to Saint Joseph's for their second matchup vs. the Hawks this season.
The Blue Hens, who are mired in a five-game losing streak, have scored just 15 runs in their last five games and have a 4-11 road record this season.
Jim ShermanSaint Joseph's comes into Tuesday's matchup having won two of three games in a series win over local rival La Salle. The Hawks have an 18-23 overall record and defeated Delaware 7-6 in the first meeting on Apr. 22 at Bob Hannah Stadium.
Delaware (18-20) has a .295 team batting average, while the UD pitching staff has accrued a 5.90 ERA.
Zach Lopes has been the hottest hitter in the Delaware lineup as the senior is batting .477 (21-44) in his last 11 games. The second baseman has recorded a multi-hit game in 14 of his last 18 contests and has raised his batting average .132 since conference play began.
Deon Stafford leads Saint Joseph's with a .333 batting average and 16 doubles, while John Brue has a team-high 12 home runs, 48 RBI, and 33 runs scored. The Hawks have a team batting average of .273 and their pitching staff has posted an ERA of 4.97.
First pitch between the Blue Hens and Hawks is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Saint Joseph University's Smithson Field.
