NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware Athletics Department is proud to announce the construction of a new locker room area for the Blue Hens field hockey program.
Construction began in May as the field hockey team moves its operations from the Delaware Field House to the Bob Carpenter Center and will join a wing already occupied by the men's and women's basketball programs in addition to the volleyball squad and equipment room. The move will also allow the program to be closer to Fred P. Rullo Stadium, the home turf of the Blue Hens.
Rolf van de KerkhofThe tradition and success of Delaware field hockey will continue as the renovation allows for the Blue Hens student-athletes to continue competing at the highest level.
The new space will provide field hockey student-athletes with an updated and modern team changing area and player lounge fit for the back-to-back Colonial Athletic Association champions and future Delaware field hockey players.
The area will also feature 25 state-of-the-art lockers, lockable storage bins and padded seating areas, wireless internet access and high definition televisions with surround sound.
For information on opportunities to further enrich student-athlete experiences, please contact Kelly Erisman with the University of Delaware Athletic Fund (UDAF) at kerisman@udel.edu or 302-831-2537.
