University of Delaware Football Earns Votes in STATS Preseason Top 25 Poll

Dave Brock, received 14 votes and was among eight Colonial Athletic Association teams recognized in a poll of 147 sports information directors and media members who cover the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision.Villanova was the highest ranked CAA team, coming in at No. 4 behind preseason favorite and four-time defending national champion North Dakota State, 2014 national runner-up Illinois State, and Sam Houston State. North Dakota State earned 144 first place votes while Illinois State picked up the other three.
Also from the CAA, New Hampshire was at No. 9, James Madison came in at No. 12, and Richmond was picked No. 18. Delaware, William & Mary, Towson, and Maine were among the teams also receiving votes but not cracking the Top 25.
Coastal Carolina, Eastern Washington, Jacksonville State, Chattanooga, New Hampshire, and Northern Iowa rounded out the Top 10. Montana State was at No. 11 followed by James Madison, Montana, Youngstown State, Liberty, South Dakota State, Eastern Kentucky, Richmond, Southeastern Louisiana, Fordham, Indiana State, Idaho State, Harvard, Stephen F. Austin, and McNeese State.
Delaware will take on six of the teams earning votes in the poll this season, including four of them at Delaware Stadium. The Hens will travel to No. 4 Villanova on Sept. 19, host No. 9 New Hampshire on Oct. 24, host No. 12 James Madison on Nov. 14, host rv Jacksonville (Fla.) in the season opener Sept. 4, host rv William & Mary on Oct. 3, and travel to rv Towson on Oct. 31.
The team will return to practice Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (first day of full pads) followed by the first pre-season scrimmage Friday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. at Delaware Stadium. The team will also practice Saturday Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. The Blue Hens will return to an afternoon practice Saturday and take part in the annual Media/Photo Day on Sunday, Aug. 16, at Delaware Stadium at 3:30 p.m. Practices and Media Day are open to the public.
Great season ticket packages, mini-plans, and single game ticket packages are still available for the 2015 season. Tickets to Delaware's six home games at Delaware Stadium are available for as little as $15 per game and can be purchased online at www.BlueHens.com, by phone at 302-831-2257, or in-person at the Delaware Ticket Office at the Bob Carpenter Center, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Group discounts for as low as $5 per ticket are also available.
Season ticket packages for as low as $89 are still available including special discounted rates for alumni, families, faculty, and staff. Among the special discounts is the inaugural Triple Option Plan, which allows fans to purchase a ticket to one game in September, one game in October, and one game in November for just $44.
