Lisa Giezeman Named CAA Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hens freshman Lisa Giezeman (Leidschendam, The Netherlands/Sin-Maartens College) picked up her second Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of The Week Award Tuesday after leading No. 12 Delaware to a 2-0 weekend.
In wins over Bucknell and Pacific, Giezeman notched six points on three goals, including the lone score of the game against the Tigers.
Giezeman leads the Hens with 20 points and nine goals (three game-winning) and has scored at least one goal in all but one game this season. She is seventh nationally with 2.5 points and 1.13 goals per game.
With Sunday's victory versus Pacific, Delaware set a new school record by opening the year 8-0. The Blue Hens previously began 1994 and 2007 with seven consecutive wins.
Stella Schoen (Hofstra) earned Player of the Week honors.
The Blue Hens will clash with No. 6 Duke in Durham, N.C. Friday before traveling to Richmond for a Sunday contest.
