Perfect Blue Hens Ranked No. 12 in NFHCA Coaches Poll

CHANDLER, Ariz. – The University of Delaware field hockey team continues to climb the charts as the Blue Hens are ranked No. 12 in the most recent Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll.
The lone 8-0 NCAA Division I team in the country, Delaware defeated Bucknell and Pacific this past weekend to set a new school record with eight consecutive wins to start the year.
The Blue Hens received 454 votes to earn the No. 12 ranking and is just one of four Division I squads with a perfect record. The Top 5 remain in tact from last week with UConn (7-0) leading the way with 951 points and 31 first place votes. Syracuse (7-0), North Carolina (7-1), Virginia (7-0) and Albany (5-1) follow the Huskies in order.
Delaware is currently second nationally behind UConn with 4.88 goals per game and a scoring margin of 3.0. In total, the Hens have outscored opponents, 39-16.
The Blue Hens will face their highest ranked opponent this season as they travel to No. 6 Duke for a 6 p.m. matchup Friday before heading to Richmond for a Sunday noon contest.
