GAME PREVIEW:
Blue Hens Step Up a Division, Travel to North Carolina for First-Ever Meeting with Tar Heels
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The University of Delaware, coming off a near-upset of longtime rival and No. 6/3 ranked Villanova last week, will step up a level and close out its non-conference schedule this Saturday with a trip south to take on Atlantic Coast Conference contender North Carolina for the first time in school history. The game will be produced by the Raycom Sports Network and will be aired live in the Delaware Valley on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic.
Delaware (1-2) will be looking to return to the win column after the 28-21 loss at Villanova in a game that the Hens led midway through the final quarter before the Wildcats scored twice in the final seven minutes, including the game-winner with 2:35 remaining. The Hens will be looking to knock off their first FCS opponent since downing Navy in 2007.

COACH BROCK RETURNS TO CAROLINA
Delaware head coach Dave Brock, now in his third season at the helm of the Blue Hens football program, has a strong tie to the University of North Carolina where he served as wide receivers coach in 2005 and assistant head coach, recruiting coordinator, and receivers coach in 2006 for then head coach John Bunting. Among the players Brock coached while at UNC was former All-Pro NFL wide receiver Hakeem Nicks.
DELAWARE VS. NCAA FBS OPPONENTS
Delaware will move up a division this week as the Blue Hens, members of the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), head south to take on North Carolina of the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).
Delaware is 78-66-4 (.540) all-time vs. upper division NCAA opponents but will be looking to snap a five-game losing streak and down an upper division foe for the first time since a 59-52 win at Navy in 2007 when current Baltimore Ravens starting quarterback Joe Flacco led the Blue Hen charge. Delaware head coach Dave Brock is 0-2 vs. FBS opponents, including a 51-7 loss at Navy in 2013 and a 62-0 setback in the season opener at Pittsburgh last year.
