Delaware Divers Congdon, Winkler Sweep Weekly Colonial Athletic Association Honors

RICHMOND, Va. -- A pair of University of Delaware divers have once again earned impressive honors from the Colonial Athletic Association.
For the 10th and 11th time this season, a Blue Hen student-athletes was selected as the league swimmer or diver of the week as UD senior Luke Winkler was named CAA Men's Diver of the Week and senior Kristina Congdon was picked as CAA Women's Diver of the Week for the period ending Jan. 17.
Both divers won two events each in leading Delaware to a non-league sweep over Iona Sunday at Rawstrom Natatorium in the Carpenter Sports Building. The Delaware men (4-4) posted a 177-103 victory while the UD women (10-1) won by a 187-99 score over the Gaels.
Winkler, a fine arts major from Bethesda, Md. (St. John's College High School), earned the award for the third time this season after also being honored on Oct. 27 and Nov. 2. He swept both diving events, winning the 1-meter board with a score of 309.52 and the 3-meter with a score of 306.82.
Congdon, a health behavior science major from Yardley, Pa. (Pennsbury High School), won the award for the second time this season after earning the citation back on Oct. 27. She scored 306.90 on the 1-meter board and 347.85 on the 3-meter.
In addition to Congdon and Winkler, also honored this week by the CAA were William & Mary senior Justin Barden as CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week; William & Mary senior Jessie Ustjanauskas as CAA Women's Co-Swimmer of the Week; and James Madison sophomore Katie Parker as CAA Women's Co-Swimmer of the Week.
Delaware will continue action this Saturday, Jan. 23, when the Blue Hens host Villanova for the final home dual meet of the season at 1 p.m. at Rawstrom Natatorium.
