Hens Return to CAA Play Wednesday at James Madison

Guillermo Delgado registered two goals last Wednesday, but it wasn't enough as the Blue Hens pulled their first draw this season with a 2-2 final against Penn at Rhodes Field. Delgado tied the game at 1-1 in the 32nd minute with the assist coming from Carlos Perales before giving the Hens (8-3-1) the 2-1 advantage just six minutes later. Thomas de Villardi collected his third assist of the season on the play. Penn's Matt Poplawski knotted the contest in the 52nd minute as Delaware entered just its second overtime contest of the season. The Quakers (3-1-5) outshot the Blue Hens, 4-1, in the extra 20 minutes of play. In total, Delaware was outshot for the first time this season as Penn held the 16-7 advantage for the entire game. Todd Morton stopped a season-high six shots in 110 minutes played.
· With two tallies at Penn, Guillermo Delgado holds 45 career goals and is just two behind Mike Biggs' program record 47 set from 1968-70. The three-time All-American is currently the NCAA's active career leader with 107 points and 45 goals.
· Todd Morton will see a familiar face Wednesday evening, as his older brother, Kyle, is the starting goalkeeper for the Dukes.
· Ben Sampson was named as a candidate for the Men's Soccer Senior CLASS Award.
· The Blue Hens were recognized by the NSCAA as a College Team Academic Award recipient for the 2015-16 academic year.
· UD has outshot opponents, 181-97, so far this year.
· With an assist against Hofstra, Delgado now sits alone in second place in program history with 17 career helpers. Mark Haggerty (1983-85) holds the all-time career mark of 18.

Predicted to finish seventh out of nine teams in the CAA preseason coaches poll, the Dukes seek their first win of the season with a mark of 0-8-3 and 0-2-2 in league play. JMU is currently eighth in the CAA standings with two points coming off of ties against Elon and William & Mary. Connor Coward leads the Dukes with three points on a goal and assist while nine total players have tallied at least one point on the year.
