RICHMOND, Va. – For the first time in her career, sophomore Lisa Giezeman (Leidschendam, The Netherlands/Sin-Maartens/Boerhaave) picked up CAA Player of the Week accolades, as announced by the conference Tuesday.
The forward tied a career mark with a season-high two goals in Sunday's 6-1 win at No. 19 American. Giezeman also collected a goal and an assist in Delaware's 7-0 victory at Towson Friday evening.
For the year, Giezeman is second for the Blue Hens with 24 points on nine goals and career-best eight assists. In just 39 games in a Delaware uniform, Giezeman has accumulated 50 career points on 20 goals and 10 assists.
Giezeman shared Player of the Week honors with William & Mary's Cammie Lloyd. The Tribe's Cassidy Goodwin was also named the CAA Rookie of the Week.
The No. 9 Blue Hens wrap regular season action this coming weekend as Delaware hosts Northeastern (Friday, 7 p.m.) and Drexel (Sunday, noon) at Fred P. Rullo Stadium. Admission to all UD home field hockey games is free and open to the public.
