CHANDLER, Ariz. – Blue Hens seniors Esmée Peet (Zeewolde, The Netherlands/RSG Slingerbos) and Meghan Winesett (Centreville, Va./Westfield) were chosen Monday as two of 50 student-athletes selected for the 2016 Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division I Senior Game, held Saturday, November 19 at 2:30 p.m. at Old Dominion University.
Rolf van de KerkhofVan de Kerkhof continued, “One of our team goals is to earn a ticket to the NCAA Final Four weekend. Although the Senior Game (which is played the day in between the semifinals and championship game) will be fun for Esmée and Meghan, these two seniors will do everything they can to have the entire Blue Hens team represent the University of Delaware as participants in the Final Four rather than two of them!”
Peet, one of the team's tri-captains, is currently fifth in program history with 110 career points on 44 goals (sixth all-time) and 22 assists (tied for fifth all-time) and has started all 85 games during her four-year career for Delaware. She is also a two-time All-American and three-time All-CAA First Team honoree.
Winesett, chosen as an alternate for the Senior Game, is also one of the team's tri-captains and a regional All-American and two-time All-CAA selection during her Blue Hens career. She is currently tied for 13th in program history with 84 career points on 32 goals and 20 assists (tied for eighth all-time).
