Five Blue Hens Named Longstreth/NFHCA All-Region Honorees

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Following the first National Championship in program history, the Delaware field hockey team had five student-athletes represented Tuesday on the Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Mid-Atlantic Region squad.
The Blue Hens, who finished the year with a 19-game winning streak and an overall mark of 23-2, had three players on the First Team with two picked for the Second Team.
Rolf van de KerkhofSenior Esmée Peet (Zeewolde, The Netherlands/RSG Slingerbos) led the way with her fourth First Team honor while junior Taylor Lister (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) and sophomore Greta Nauck (Krefeld, Germany/Gymnasium am Moltekeplatz) each garnered First Team accolades for the first time in their careers.
Sophomore Lisa Giezeman (Leidschendam, The Netherlands/Sin-Maartens/Boerhaave) was tabbed a Second Team selection for the second straight season while junior Emmeline Oltmans (Baarn, The Netherlands/Het Baarnsch Lyceum) collected her first-ever Second Team pick.
Nauck, the CAA Player of the Year, finished the year first nationally with 3.04 points per game and 1.32 goals per game on a school record 76 points and 33 goals, including 10 game-winning tallies. In just two seasons for Delaware, the midfielder is seventh in program history with 103 career points on 44 goals and 15 assists.
Peet completed the year with 25 points on nine goals and seven assists while garnering her fourth All-CAA First Team selection. The midfielder wrapped her career ranked fourth all-time with 120 career points and 48 goals and sixth with 24 assists.
Lister, who also picked up All-CAA First Team accolades for the first time in her career, posted 21 points on five goals and 11 assists for Delaware while collecting NCAA All-Tournament Team honors.
Giezeman tied for second for the Hens this season with 25 points on nine goals and seven assists and was also an All-CAA Second Team selection.
Oltmans registered a 1.42 goals allowed average with 86 saves at a clip of .729. Also a NCAA All-Tournament Team and All-CAA First Team honoree, the goalie placed 13th nationally with her GAA and first overall with a 92.0 winning percentage.
The Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Regional Players of the Year will be announced on Thursday, with the All-America squad coming on out December 7 and the National Player of the Year on December 14.
