CHANDLER, Ariz. – It's been quite the week for Greta Nauck (Krefeld, Germany/Gymnasium am Moltekeplatz) as she guided Delaware to its fourth straight league title as the CAA Player of the Year and now she has been named the Longstreth/NFHCA National Offensive Player of the Week.
Nauck posted a total of five goals and an assist in victories over Drexel and then-No. 20 James Madison this past weekend as the Blue Hens picked up their sixth overall CAA Championship.
The sophomore set a new Delaware CAA Tournament record by netting her third career hat trick while adding an assist in Friday's 6-1 semifinal win over the Dragons. The CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, Nauck followed with a pair of goals in Sunday's 4-1 victory against the Dukes.
The nation's leader with 3.19 points and 1.38 goals per game, Nauck holds the UD single season record with 29 goals and 67 points this season. She is currently tied for 11th in program history with 94 points on 40 goals (10th all-time) and 14 assists in just two seasons in a Delaware uniform.
Nauck previously earned NFHCA National Offensive Player of the Week accolades on Aug. 31.
The No. 8 Blue Hens (19-2) will travel to Durham, N.C. this weekend to face No. 9 Louisville (15-5) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The game will be played at 2 p.m. Saturday at Duke University's Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. The winner of Saturday's second contest will take on the victor of the 11:30 a.m. game between No. 1 Duke (15-3) and either American (13-6) or Kent State (14-6), who play in Wednesday's Play-In game.
