Whited, a native of Virginia Beach, Va., holds a 50-3 career No. 1 singles mark as a senior at Frank W. Cox High School. The four-star recruit is a three-time conference singles and doubles champion while also garnering two regional singles titles and three regional doubles crowns.
“We are excited to welcome Sarah to the Blue Hen family," exclaimed Travis, who is in her 25th season as the head coach at her alma mater. "She is a passionate and committed student of the game who balances academic success in the classroom. Her upside is enormous and we look forward to Fall 2017 when she can join in with our collegiate training and competition opportunities.”
A two-time Virginia High School League Girls Tennis Player of the Year, Whited guided the Falcons to two Virginia State team championships, with the most recent coming this past spring. Whited was also named the Virginia Athletic Council Best Female Tennis Player in 2015 and 2016, years in which she reached the state singles and doubles semifinals.
The daughter of Chris and Jodie Whited, Sarah is planning on majoring in business at the University of Delaware.
