Jalen Kindle, Tenny Adewusi, and Tommy Wilmoth.
“I understand that I am very blessed and getting the opportunity to do the Polar Bear Plunge was an incredible experience,” said Nichols, an All-Colonial Athletic Association defensive tackle from Newark, Del. (Hodgson Vo-Tech High School). “Anytime I can help out others for a good cause is priceless to me.”
“Participating in the Polar Bear Plunge this past weekend was an awesome experience,” said Torzsa, a defensive back from Waxhaw, N.C. (Cuthbertson HS). “Anytime we have a chance to show those Olympic athletes who the real heroes are, we want to always do it. I hope we can continue it for years to come.”
Sunday's plunge will not be the only opportunity University of Delaware students and athletes will have this month to take a dip in cold water and help support Special Olympics Delaware. The inaugural UD Polar Plunge will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. at the outdoor pool at the Harrington Turf on campus. The event will include food, refreshments, music, a DJ, and a t-shirt to all participants as part of their $30 donation.
Registration and donation information is available online at: www.firstgiving.com/SODE/2016-ud-polar-plunge.
