RICHMOND, Va. -- Just one day after the conclusion of the Colonial Athletic Association Championships, seven University of Delaware swimmers competed at the Long Course Time Trials Sunday at the Collegiate School Aquatics Center.
The meet, which included approximately 100 swimmers from 16 NCAA schools, is designed to give collegiate swimmers a final chance to advance to the NCAA Championships through A and B qualifying times through long course (meters) competition.
Delaware's seven competitors raced to strong times but none met NCAA qualifying standards and thus closed out their 2015-16 competition seasons.
For the Delaware women, Dominique Montoya swam to a time of 2:07.28 in the 200 meter freestyle and Morgan Whyte posted a time of 26.47 in the 50 meter freestyle.

Both Delaware teams placed fourth at the CAA Championships during the weekend in Richmond. The Blue Hens did not win any individual events but posted runner-up finishes by Camp in the 500-yard freestyle, Tooley in the 1,650-yard freestyle, Sarah Braatz in the 1,650-yard freestyle, Montoya in the 500-yard freestyle, and Whyte in both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events.
