Jim Sherman. “Marinaccio and Walter dialed up great performances for us and that is what we need if we are going to start playing well in the four remaining conference weekend series. We also got some timely hitting and some good production out of the middle of the order, especially from (Nick) Tierno and (Jordan) Glover who keep chugging along. We are looking forward to getting back here tomorrow and getting the sweep.”

In the opener, the Hens jumped out to a 6-0 lead with four runs in the third and two more in the fifth and never looked back. Delaware added two more runs in the seventh and three in the eighth to reach double figures for the 11th time this season.

Glover went 2 for 4 with four RBI, including a three-run double in the fourth, Tierno and first baseman Nick Patten both drove in two runs, and center fielder Kevin Mohollen collected three hits.

In the nightcap, Delaware broke open a tight game as the Hens scored five times in the fourth to break a scoreless tie and tacked on another run in the sixth. Third baseman Diaz Nardo and second baseman Jeremy Ake each knocked in two runs while Glover and Tierno each had two hits. Glover had four stolen bases over the two games.

HEN SCRATCHINGS:
• Delaware is 16-8 at home this season, including a 15-3 mark vs. non-league opponents. Siena fell to 9-19 on the road
• Sherman will coach his 1,200th career game Sunday vs. Siena. He is 684-515 in 23 seasons at Delaware and Wilmington (Del.) University
• Tierno has now been on base in 22 straight games and is 23 of his last 47 (.489) at the plate over the last 13 games
• Following Wednesday's 7-0 win over Wilmington in which Nick Spadafino hurled a two-hit shutout, Delaware starters have pitched 23 innings and allowed just 13 hits and four runs (1.56 ERA) with 20 strikeouts over the last three games
