RICHMOND, Va. – Following a career weekend for the Blue Hens, sophomore Greta Nauck (Krefeld, Germany/Gymnasium am Moltekeplatz) was selected as the season's first CAA Field Hockey Player of the Week, as announced by the conference Tuesday.
Nauck led No. 14 Delaware to a 2-0 opening weekend with a pair of wins over No. rv Ohio State. The midfielder scored career-highs of four goals and eight points in Saturday's 5-2 victory against the Buckeyes. Her mark of four goals is good to tie for second in school history with five other players and the first since 1995 while her eight points was also good to tie for third in Rullo Stadium history.
The Preseason All-CAA honoree added the first goal of Sunday's game and followed with an assist as the Hens defeated OSU, 6-3.
Lisa Lejeune (James Madison) earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Delaware returns to the pitch this coming Friday with a 6 p.m. contest at No. 20 Old Dominion.
