UD Finishes Day Two of Tiger Classic Against Towson

TOWSON, Md. – The Blue Hens completed day two of the Towson Tiger Classic Saturday afternoon by splitting the singles matches and taking the doubles match against the host Tigers.
Freshman Brooke Pilkington (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) earned her second straight singles win with a 6-3, 6-1 decision over Sophie Lesage.
Sophomore Sara Komer (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) captured her first victory of the season by defeating Renate van Oorschodt in come-from-behind fashion, 5-7, 6-2, 10-6.
In doubles play, junior Amanda Studnicki (Normal, Ill./Normal West) paired with graduate student Denny LaMachia (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) to go 2-0 this fall with a 6-2, 6-4 win against Lucy Williams and Barbora Vasilkova.
Delaware wraps the Tiger Classic Sunday with a 9 a.m. match against Rhode Island.
