LAST TIME OUT ⚽️
What a night it was for the Delaware men's soccer team Saturday evening as the Blue Hens kicked off CAA action against William & Mary at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium. Guillermo Delgado led off by setting a new school record with 101 career points while Jaime Martinez concluded the evening in dramatic fashion as his second score of the season crossed the goal line as time expired in double overtime. In the end, No. rv Delaware picked up its fourth straight win over No. rv William & Mary to move to 6-1 on the year and 1-0 in league action by a tally of 2-1. Delgado, who entered the game in a tie for first all-time in program history with 99 career points alongside Mike Biggs (1968-70), evened the game at 1-1 in the 66th minute to become the first player in Delaware history to reach the 100-point plateau. The score was also the 43rd goal of his career as he sits just behind Biggs' mark of 47. Martinez assisted on the play and also moved up in the Blue Hens record books as he is now tied for 10th all-time with 12 career assists. The Hens and Tribe (5-2, 0-1 CAA) remained scoreless for the next 44 minutes of action before Robert Gillin found Martinez on the right side, who sailed the shot in from 15 yards out as time expired. Todd Morton collected three saves in the win.
