RICHMOND, Va. – After a record-breaking weekend for the Krefeld, Germany native, Greta Nauck was named the CAA Field Hockey Player of the Week.
Nauck collected her third recognition of the year, and second straight, after tallying her second career game with four goals while breaking the program record for goals in the process in Sunday's 8-1 victory at Columbia. Her four goals marked just the eighth time in program history that a Blue Hen has scored at least four goals in a contest.
The junior matched Sharon Wilkie's 35-year-old record with her 59th career goal in the 41st minute before topping the mark with number 60 with just seconds remaining on the game clock versus the Lions.
With her 60 career goals, Nauck also entered the Top 10 in the CAA record books and currently sits tied for eighth alongside Drexel's Christina Mastropaolo. She is also fourth among the NCAA's active career goals leaders.
Earlier in the weekend, the forward posted Delaware's lone goal against No. 21 Saint Joseph's.
No. 11 Delaware (10-4, 2-0 CAA) closes out its home regular season this weekend by hosting No. 18 William & Mary Friday at 7 p.m. before its annual senior day game Sunday versus Towson at noon. Admission at Fred P. Rullo Stadium is free and open to the public.
