UD Takes on Drexel and Temple on Day One of Dragons Invitational

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Blue Hens opened play Saturday at the Drexel Invitational with matches against the Dragons and Temple.
Delaware picked up four victories on the first day of play.
In singles action against the Owls, junior Annie Jaskulski (Wilmington, Del./Friends) posted a 6-2, 1-6, 10-6 win over Alice Patch while sophomore Brooke Pilkington (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) topped Yana Khon, 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles play, the Hens swept the Dragons in two come-from-behind three-set matches.
Pilkington paired with junior Sara Komer (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) for a 2-6, 6-4, 10-7 decision over Ryshena Providence and Anisiya Simpson.
Jaskulski and freshman Sarah Whited (Virginia Beach, Va./Frank W. Cox) collected their fifth win of the season by defeating Marta Martinez and Mya Fuentes, 3-6, 6-1, 10-7.
