Delaware Baseball to Host Two Intra-Squad Scrimmages this Sunday and Monday

NEWARK, Del. -- With the season just 13 days away, the University of Delaware baseball squad will host two scrimmages this Sunday (Feb. 5) and this Monday (Feb. 6).
Sunday's scrimmage will start at 1 p.m. while Monday's is set for 3:30 p.m.. All fans are welcome and gates will open a half hour before first pitch.
Jim ShermanThe scrimmage on Sunday will feature preseason All-Colonial Athletic Association first team selection Brandon Walter facing off against Rhode Island transfer Dan Jacobson. Monday's matchup will be Kevin Milley against Nick Spadafino.
This will serve as an opportunity for the Blue Hens to prepare for the start of the regular season, where they will participate in the Diamond 9 Sunshine State Classic in Kissimmee, Florida.
The tournament, hosted by the University of Pittsburgh, features three top-flight opponents in Atlantic Coast Conference member Pittsburgh, Big 10 power Ohio State, and Kansas State of the Big 12 Conference.
The Blue Hens return almost all of the squad from a season ago, and were projected to finish fourth in the CAA preseason poll. Delaware's three first team preseason selections were the second most selections in the conference.
