HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Blue Hens kicked off their spring break trip to the south Friday afternoon with a 6-1 loss in their CAA opener at James Madison University.
The Dukes (7-6, 2-1 CAA) swept the team doubles point and quickly held the advantage over Delaware by taking the first four singles matches.
Blue Hens sophomore Blaise Casselbury (Lititz, Pa./Lancaster County Day School) garnered the lone win of the day for Delaware as he fought for the 4-6, 6-0, 12-10 victory over Brett Moorhead in No. 3 singles action.
“We competed well today and had some chances in the doubles, but we couldn't close it out. In singles play, we were very close in a few matches and congratulations to Blaise for pulling out a nice win in the third set super tiebreaker.”
