Delaware Falls to Charleston, 3-1

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Delaware volleyball team fell to the College of Charleston, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon inside TD Arena. With the loss, UD falls to 9-15 overall and 3-9 in the Colonial Athletic Association while COFC improves to 17-9 and 8-4 in the league.
Junior Maria Bellinger led the way with an impressive .322 attacking clip after 26 kills on 59 swings. Senior Brooke Robertson posted her second-best league kill total with 11 while junior Bailey Pearlman had 10. Junior Cailey Bracken produced nine hammers while UD had 60 a a team.
Sophomore Courtnie Roberts dished out 50 assists in four sets. She helped Delaware hit .239 as a team with 60 kills. Junior Andie Hanus had four assists and Maddie Judge had one.
Delaware had four blocks, with sophomore Julia Hayes posting a match-high three. Bracken had two while Robertson and Bellinger each recorded one.
Hanus had 20 digs in the loss for her 11th match of 20 or more digs. UD had 66 scoops as a team and Bracken hit double-digits with 11. Judge and Roberts each had seven digs each while Bellinger had five.
Delaware will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Northeastern. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
