BOSTON – The Delaware volleyball program fell to Northeastern, 3-0, at the Cabot Center on Friday night. With the loss, UD fell to 9-16 and 3-10 in the Colonial Athletic Association while NU improved to 15-11 and 8-5 in the league.
Junior Maria Bellinger led the way with nine kills on 34 swings. Junior Cailey Bracken had eight while senior Brooke Robertson posted six. UD had 25 hammers has a team. Robertson had the best hitting percentage on the team with a .235 attacking clip. She had just two errors on 17 swings.
Sophomore Courtnie Roberts had 13 assists while senior Abby Skrud posted five. Junior libero Andie Hanus had four while sophomore Maddie Judge had one.
Hanus and freshman Samantha Davis had eight digs each. Davis' total was her second-best performance of her career. Judge had six scoops, Bracken produced four and Roberts had three. The Blue Hens had 33 digs as a team.
UD sent back five blocks, with Bracken, Robertson and Hayes each posting two. Roberts, Bellinger and Underwood had one.
Delaware will continue the road trip on Sunday at Hofstra. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
