Blue Hens Show Success at Kitty Harrison Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Delaware opened weekend action Friday at the UNC Kitty Harrison Invitational in successful fashion as the Blue Hens picked up six total victories, including three come-from-behind three-set singles wins.
In morning play against the host Tar Heels, senior Sarah Hall paired with freshman Caragh Courtney for the 6-2 triumph against Alle Sanford and Anna Harmon.
The pair followed with a 6-4 decision over Elon's Uma Nayar and Suzanne Zenoni for their fourth win of the season.
The Hens swept afternoon action against Charlotte by posted four victories.
Hall and Courtney finished their days with three 'W's under her belt by topping Pierina Imparato, 7-6 (2), 6-1 and Emma Scott, 3-6, 6-4, 11-9, respectively.
Sophomore Sarah Whited and freshman Emily Gotkiewicz each added 4-6, 6-4, 10-7 scores versus Zoe Radojicic and Immie Cowper, respectively.
Play continues Saturday at 9 a.m. with doubles play against Penn State and William & Mary.
