Pearlman Posts 14 Kills as Delaware Falls to Towson, 3-0

NEWARK, Del. – The Delaware volleyball program fell to Towson, 3-0 (28-26, 25-16, 25-23), inside the Bob Carpenter Center on Friday night. With the loss, UD fell to 9-17 and 3-12 in the CAA while Towson improved to 16-14 and 9-6 in the league.
Delaware was led by junior Bailey Pearlman after 14 kills on a career best .480 hitting percentage. Junior Maria Bellinger earned 14 kills as well on 58 swings. Delaware posted 41 team hammers, with junior Cailey Bracken earning four and senior Brooke Robertson, sophomore Courtnie Roberts and sophomore Julia Hayes each recording three.
Roberts directed the offense with 36 assists and a .136 team attacking clip. UD had 39 assists overall as junior Andie Hanus had two and sophomore Maddie Judge had one.
Hanus had the match high in digs with 21. Bracken recorded 13 digs while Roberts earned her 14th double-double of the season after adding 12 scoops to her 36 assists. Delaware posted 57 as a team while Towson had 67.
UD had five blocks on the night, with three coming from Hayes and Pearlman. Robertson posted two while Bracken and Bellinger each had one. Towson had 15.5 blocks as a team while UD had 5.
Bracken, Robertson and Hanus each had one service ace.
Delaware will wrap up the season on Sunday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day. The Blue Hens will honor their four seniors – Brooke Robertson, Abby Skryd, Corey Perkins and Sonja Vukosavljevic – before the match.
