Blue Hens Hit The Road For Second-Straight Top-20 Opponent

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – With most of the University of Delaware student body headed off to enjoy some down time during Spring Break, the Blue Hens men's lacrosse team is facing anything but rest and relaxation.
Delaware faces its third straight road game and second consecutive nationally-ranked opponent when it travels to Piscataway, N.J. to take on #11 Rutgers on Saturday evening.
The Scarlet Knights will be the third ranked opponent in the past four games for the Blue Hens, a stretch which also include #8 Villanova and #9 Johns Hopkins).
“We knew that our schedule would be challenging, but we believe that it'll prepare us for the upcoming conference season, which is full of tremendously talented teams,” head coach Ben DeLuca said.
Sophomore Bryce Reid leads an offensive attack that ranks second in the CAA, averaging 11 goals per game. Reid leads the nation in shot percentage, firing 73.9-percent of his shots on target. He currently leads the team with 17 goals and enters Saturday's contest with five straight multi-goal games.
Junior Austin Haynes leads the defense, causing 2.29 turnovers per game, which leads the CAA and ranks seventh in the country.
The Blue Hens and Scarlet Knights square off at 7 p.m. on BTN online.
