HEN SCRATCHINGS 🐔
• Delaware is looking to bounce back after dropping a non-league doubleheader at Saint Joseph's, 4-2 and 6-2, Wednesday afternoon. Anna Steinmetz led the Blue Hens with four hits on the day, while Chayanna Gallardo added three and Mariah Kondravy drove home a pair.
• Steinmetz leads Delaware with a .355 batting average, 27 hits, seven doubles, five home runs and 20 RBI, while Leanna Gearhart is hitting .300 withe team-highs of 14 runs scored and 12 stolen bases.
• Kondravy is UD's career leader with 52 doubles and 154 RBI, and ranks second in school history with 208 hits. She also ranks second in UD history with 29 career homers, two behind Steimetz who has 31.
• Gearhart has stolen a school record 100 career bases, and is tied for the team lead with 12 steals this year.
• Kendyl Scott is hitting a CAA-best .473 for Towson, which leads the league with a .327 team batting average. Madison Wilson is batting .431 on the year, while Brook Miko has scored a league-leading 32 runs and Scott has posted a CAA-high 14 doubles.
• The Blue Hens opened CAA action last weekend by dropping two of three games to Drexel, while Towson kicked off conference play by getting swept at CAA preseason favorite James Madison.
SERIES INFORMATION 💪
• Delaware holds a 60-57 lead over Towson in the all-time series, and the teams have met every season since 1977. The Blue Hens took two of three matchups from the Tigers last season in Newark.
