Blue Hens Hutchins Earns CAA Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Behind a strong week that included nine hits and six two-out RBI, Delaware freshman Jordan Hutchins was named Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week the conference announced Monday.
Hutchins (Dover, Del./Dover), who started in all five of Delaware's games this week, hit .474 (9-19) with at least one hit in all five games. The Delaware native went 2-4 in Delaware's LBC game Tuesday before turning in the most productive day of his young career Wednesday against Saint Joseph's, where he went 3-5 with three RBI.
The infielder recorded three multiple hit games including a 2-4 performance Friday where he drove in a pair of runs.
Hutchins is Delaware's second CAA Rookie of the Week honoree this season and is the third Delaware honoree in the last two weeks.
Delaware kicks off another five-game week tomorrow afternoon at Delaware State. First pitch from Dover is scheduled for 3 p.m.
