Delaware Heads To James Madison For Weekend Series With Dukes

HEN SCRATCHINGS 🐔
• Delaware returns to Colonial Athletic Association play this weekend with a three-game series at James Madison. Due to expected inclement weather, the teams will now play a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Friday. The date and time of the final game will be decided later in the weekend.
• Last Saturday Delaware split a doubleheader at Towson before the Tigers took the series by defeating the Blue Hens, 5-3, on Sunday.
• Anna Steinmetz belted two homers while Mariah Kondravy added one in last weekend's action, increasing their career totals to 33 and 30, first and second most in school history, respectively. Steinmetz leads the team and ranks third in the conference with seven home runs on the season while also leading Delaware with a .345 batting average, 29 hits, seven doubles and 26 RBI. Kondravy is batting .297 and is UD's career leader with 52 doubles and 157 RBI.
• Chayanna Gallardo recorded her sixth RBI of the season after posting one vs. the Tigers on Sunday while Steinmetz added six on the weekend, Kondravy posted three and Alyshia Dellatore delivered two.
• Reyna de Jesus, Giovanna Kolofer and Kondravy each added four hits in the weekend series. Kondravy's 212 career hits are second most by a Blue Hen while Leanna Gearhart is tied for fourth with 186.
• Gearhart stole a base vs. Towson and leads UD with 13 on the season, ranking first in the conference. She holds the record for most in school history with 101 career stolen bases.
• Jordan Cargile pitched in all three games last weekend, and now ranks fourth in school history with 106 career appearances and eighth in the conference with a 3.57 ERA.
• James Madison currently sits in second place in the CAA standings with a 5-1 league mark after sweeping Towson and taking two of three games at UNCW.
• Odicci Alexander leads the Dukes and ranks third in the league with a .439 batting average to go with a league-high 10 home runs, while Payton Buresch is 12-4 with a 0.94 earned run average in the circle.
SERIES INFORMATION 💪
• James Madison leads the all-time series with Delaware, 39-13, and has won the last last 18 meetings between the teams. Last year the Dukes swept a three-game set in Newark.
