Spring Season Provides Development, Competition Opportunities for Blue Hens

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware field hockey program has set high goals ahead for the 2018 season.
In order to put themselves in position to achieve those goals, the Blue Hens have been focused on opportunities ahead of them during their spring season, which includes not only competition, but also development opportunities in a practice and individual work setting.
Aside from their on-field hockey and strength & conditioning moments, the players group has been spending more time and energy on the mental game, communication skills and habits, and anticipation of what is or needs to be next and coaching themselves.
Rolf van de KerkhofThree competition days will highlight the University of Delaware spring season. The competition days will allow the players and coaches to start the puzzle process of moving puzzle pieces around to start laying out the pieces of the puzzle.
The Blue Hens will host the UDFH Spring Tournament on April 7thand will welcome Syracuse, American, Drexel, Maryland, Temple, Rutgers and UDFH's Alumni Team. Tournament action will take place at Rullo from 11 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
On April 14th, Delaware will host Penn for a full game at 12 p.m.
The final spring competition will be on April 21stwhen the Blue Hens travel to Princeton for a 10 a.m. contest.
