Blue Hen Catcher Anna Steinmetz Named Third Team NFCA All-Northeast Region

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Delaware junior catcher Anna Steinmetz was named to the 2018 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I All-Northeast Region Third Team, the organization announced on Thursday.
Steinmetz (Glen Mills, Pa./West Chester Bayard Rustin), a third team pick in 2016 as well, becomes the fifth player in Blue Hen history earn multiple all-region honors along with Lauren Mark, Kristi O'Connell, Carolynn Sloat and Mariah Kondravy.
Steinmetz, who was selected first team All-CAA last week, started all 49 games for the Blue Hens this season, including 25 behind the plate. She led Delaware with 12 doubles, 10 home runs and 38 RBI while hitting .341 on the year and posted 13 multi-hit games on the season.
Steinmetz paced the Blue Hens with a team-best 11 multi-RBI efforts, and delivered three-hit contests against Ohio University and Saint Joseph's. She currently is UD's career leader with 36 career homers, ranks second with 132 RBI, and is eighth with 29 doubles.
