Amanda Studnicki Named to Academic All-District Team

NEWARK, Del. – Blue Hens senior co-captain Amanda Studnicki (Normal, Ill./Normal West) earned national recognition for her work on the court and in the classroom Friday after being named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Team, as selected by CoSIDA.

Studnicki, who will graduate next week with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering, currently holds a cumulative GPA of 3.99 and was recently named as the University of Delaware Distinguished Senior in Biomedical Engineering.

A four-year letter winner for the Blue Hens, Studnicki garnered 44 singles wins and is tied for sixth in program history with 66 doubles victories for her career. She is also a three-time ITA Scholar Athlete and CAA Academic Honor Roll awardee and two-time member of Chi Alpha Sigma (National College Athlete Honor Society). Studnicki has served as a team captain and team SAAC representative in each of the last three seasons and has also committed time as an academic tutor and member of Athletes Intervarsity for Delaware Christian Athletes.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District® Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in June.

Studnicki joins Denny LaMachia (2016-17), Megan Doran (2010-11) and Laura Leroy Travis (1988-89) as UD women's tennis recipients of the CoSIDA Academic All-District® Team award.
