Studnicki Tabbed ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award Honoree

TEMPE, Ariz. – The national awards keep piling on for Amanda Studnicki (Normal, Ill./Normal West) as the Blue Hens senior earned the ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award for the Atlantic Region Monday.
Studnicki, one of the team's co-captains, is the first-ever University of Delaware student to receive the award, which recognizes individuals who have exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and leadership as well as scholastic, extracurricular and tennis achievements and dates back to 1982.
A total of 11 student-athletes will now vie for the ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship National Award, which will be announced on Wednesday.
Studnicki, who will graduate this weekend with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering, currently holds a cumulative GPA of 3.99 and was recently named as the University of Delaware Distinguished Senior in Biomedical Engineering. She also earned 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Team accolades, as selected by CoSIDA, last week.
A four-year letter winner for the Blue Hens, Studnicki garnered 44 singles wins and is tied for sixth in program history with 66 doubles victories for her career. She is also a three-time ITA Scholar Athlete and CAA Academic Honor Roll awardee and two-time member of Chi Alpha Sigma (National College Athlete Honor Society). Studnicki has served as a team captain and team SAAC representative in each of the last three seasons and has also committed time as an academic tutor and member of Athletes Intervarsity for Delaware Christian Athletes.
