HEN SCRATCHINGS 🐔
• Delaware closes out its regular season this weekend by hosting Elon in a three-game series. The Blue Hens and Phoenix will play a doubleheader on Friday at 3 p.m. and a single game on Saturday at 12 noon. Friday's games will be livestreamed, while Saturday will be Senior Day. UD seniors Jordan Cargile, Alyshia Dellatore, Leanna Gearhart, Mariah Kondravy, Giovanna Kolofer and Mattie Nuccio will be honored in a pregame ceremony.
• The Blue Hens can qualify for the CAA Tournament by sweeping the Phoenix, along with Charleston winning at least one game over UNCW. UD is attempting to qualify for the league tournament for the third year in a row.
• Delaware has won five of its last six contests, including three straight games. The Blue Hens are coming off a doubleheader sweep of Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday, when UD posted 8-1 and 4-3 victories over the Mountaineers.
• Anna Steinmetz and Kondravy each belted two homers on the day. Steinmetz currently holds the UD record with 35 career longballs, while Kondravy ranks second with 34.
• Kondravy delivered three hits on the afternoon and now has 235 for her career, four shy of Jessica Grisler's school record total of 239.
• Gearhart added two hits to give her 200 for her career, while her 23rd career triple in the first inning of the opener set a school record.
• Kolofer contributed three hits on the day, while Miranda O'Donald went 3 for 4 in the opener during her first start of the season.
• Sarah Piening and Cargile each picked up victories in the circle, while Cargile moved into second place in UD history with 119 career appearances.
• Kara Shutt leads Elon with a .417 batting average, 68 hits, 20 doubles and 41 runs scored, while Hannah Olson is hitting .383 on the year
SERIES INFORMATION 💪
• Delaware leads the all-time series with Elon, 7-6, but the Phoenix took two of three meetings last year in Elon. The Phoenix scored just seven runs in that three-game set while the Blue Hens scored only five.
